What are you most excited about for AMSA Academy?
I’m excited to be leading such a great team, and to see all of their fantastic ideas come to fruition. I’m particularly looking forward to our new Academy of the Mind course focusing on the mental health of medical students, and hope that we will be able to develop an informative resource for anyone who has questions about or has ever experienced a mental health problem while studying medicine.

I am very excited to be working with such a passionate team on the relaunch of a brilliant online platform and to seeing what we can achieve together this year. The expansion of our mental health course, Academy of the Mind, has certainly been a highlight so far and I look forward to the new course which will be specifically focusing on the mental health of medical students. I feel highly privileged to be making a positive contribution towards the learning of my fellow colleagues and I truly hope that all medical students benefit from this great resource.

What are you most excited about for AMSA Academy?
What I’m most excited about is the new medical student mental health course which provides an opportunity for us as medical students to explore our own mental health and provide strategies to a healthier headspace. I hope this, along with our revamped Academy of the Mind Course will be useful and informative resources for all medical students. Additionally, it’s really exciting to be part of AMSA Academy and I’m looking forward to all the course launches!

What are you most excited about for AMSA Academy?
I am super passionate about mental health and wellbeing, and seeing the prevalence of mental illness in doctors and medical students has made me eager to do something about it! I think the Medical Minds course will be a fantastic way to raise awareness, encourage self-care and self-help, improve knowledge of mental illness signs and symptoms, and help decrease stigma. These are important goals with relevance extending beyond medical students and doctors to our patients, friends and families. So a very worthwhile endeavour that I’m happy to be a part of!

What are you most excited about for AMSA Academy?
I am really excited to contribute to the reinvigoration of a project that helped level the playing field in mental health education across medical schools in Australia. As society, doctors and the general public included, feels more comfortable discussing their mental health with their doctors it becomes much more important that we are all equally as receptive and compassionate towards these issues, no matter which specialty pathway we end up following!
